The vision of Southwest Michigan hearing services is to provide premium products and services at competitive prices, prioritizing quality above all else.

As a small, independent provider, I have the flexibility to collaborate directly with patients to identify the most suitable hearing solutions and provide competitive pricing, due to minimal overhead costs I am able to offer more affordable options to my patients. The prevailing emphasis on corporate profits driven by sales has disheartened me.

This flexibility allows me to offer flat rate pricing of $3800 for a set of premium rechargeable RIC hearing aids guaranteed, you will never be asked to pay more! I am also registered with many of the Medicare supplement plans.

We pride ourselves in hearing aid sales and support services devoid of corporate bureaucracy, offering thorough hearing evaluations and personalized programming at competitive pricing.

FAQs

  • My hearing is not that bad, do I really need hearing aids?

On average individuals that need hearing support wait 7-10 years to purchase a hearing device. During this time the loss of hearing continues and can increase communication issues with others. Communication issues generally lead to sitting silently rather than joining in, they fear that hearing problems will make them seem helpless or less than competent.

  • Hearing aids are big and bulky and others say they don’t sound good or make noise

Hearing aids are no longer big and bulky like the old days, there are many small sleek designs and options to support your hearing needs. New hearing aid users do need to be patient and give your brain time to adjust to the new way of hearing, this will not be immediate. If you or a loved one notices sound from the hearing aids or you feel you're not hearing like you should, please call the office right away for adjustments. We can’t help if we don’t know there's an issue.

  • Are hearing aids covered by my insurance?

In general most employer plans do not have a hearing aid benefit, there are some that provide a benefit, contact your insurance plan for more information. Medicare does not currently provide a hearing aid benefit, but many of the Medicare supplement plans have a benefit as an add on coverage. Many of the supplement plans work with a third party hearing benefit coordinator that works with a registered hearing aid provider. These plans provide a discounted amount or co-pay that is required by the patient and includes a hearing evaluation, trial period, 3 year manufacturer repair warranty and one year of follow up care and service; this renews every 36 months. Contact your insurance directly, call the provided number on your card for more details, or contact the office for additional information on your plan.

  • My hearing aids are not making sound but the lights are coming on.

Most likely the filter is full of wax, preventing sound from coming out of the speaker. To change the filters, remove the dome/rubber tip, use the filter stick to remove the used filter and replace the filter with the fresh filter on the opposite end of the stick and replace the dome or put a fresh dome on the end of the speaker. If the hearing does not start producing sound after changing the filter please contact the office.

  • My hearing aids are making noise or the sound is tinny

Change the filter and put the hearing aid back in the charger for 30-60 seconds, or open and close the battery door, if this does not resolve the issue contact the office for program adjustments.
